Taco catering that lets everyone build their own

A taco bar solves the hardest problem in group catering: everyone wants something slightly different. Set out the meats, the tortillas and the garnishes, and each guest builds exactly the plate they want.

Why a taco bar works for groups

Plated catering forces you to guess. You pick two entrées, and someone in the room doesn't eat one of them. A taco bar flips that: the components go out separately and guests assemble. Picky eaters build something plain, adventurous eaters pile it on, and vegetarians eat well without a special order.

It's also efficient to serve. There's no plating bottleneck — a line moves quickly, and people can come back for a second. For office lunches where folks arrive in waves, that's usually the deciding factor.

The food is the same food we serve in the shop: slow-cooked meats, corn tortillas, chopped onion and cilantro, lime, and our house salsas. Add rice, beans and chips and it's a complete spread.

A taco bar typically includes
  • Two or more proteins
  • Corn tortillas
  • Onion, cilantro and lime
  • House salsas: chipotle, cilantro-lime, salsa verde
  • Rice, beans and chips

Frequently asked questions

How many tacos per person should I plan?

Two to three per guest is the usual planning number, more if tacos are the only entrée. We'll advise once we know your headcount.

Can you do a build-your-own setup?

Yes — that's the format most groups choose, with components laid out separately.

Do you include salsas and garnishes?

Yes. Onion, cilantro, lime and our house salsas come with a taco spread.

What about guests who don't eat meat?

A self-serve taco bar handles that easily with beans, rice, cheese and vegetables.

How much notice do you need?

The more the better. Slow-cooked meats need to be started well ahead, so reach out as soon as you have a date.
